Story behind the song
I, like many other teenagers, liked to do whatever we could get away with...that's a teenager's job. It was our parent's job to prevent us from self destructing. That is the nature of the parent/teen relationship.
Lyrics
Old Easley cave is a place I love, For underage drinking it's much better than a pub, Don't need no invitation, don't need no fake ID, Don't need to fret and worry 'bout no sheriff's deputy. First you have to find your way, to that liquor store, Then hang around them winos, until you make a score, Then head down to that river, sipping as you go, Just pass around that bottle boys, no one will ever know. Slipping home so late at night, stagger at the door, Most of what you drank up there will end up on the floor, But in your heart, you know you're smart, your folks don't have a clue, But we were there so long ago, now the Devil seeks his due. Old Easley cave is a place I love, For underage drinking, it's much better than a pub, Don't need no invitation, don't need no fake ID, Don't need to fret and worry 'bout no sheriff's deputy.
