Tone Kapone is an artist focused more on creativity and making good music than on money. He strives for perfection as he takes music in a different direction. Hoping to bring lyricism to the forefront, Tone pours his life and his soul on his tracks. He is a throwback of sorts; an artist that aspires to make music that will remain true to himself Tony Garcia was born in Junction City, Kansas; a small city in the middle of Kansas on March 25, 1982. Ever since childhood, Tone has been infatuated with music and writing. His lifelong passion for music blossomed at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He co-hosted the Underground Sound with Billy Da Kid on KCOU 88.1 while continuing to hone his talents with a pen and pad. After graduating in 2004 he recorded his first song, “KC Kings,” at Ascension Studios in Kansas City, Kansas at the urging of his best friends. Ever since that first session he has been trying to make a name for himself in the music industry. By combining lyrical content with undeniable beats he created a sound of his own. In the summer of 2005 he joined Inzpired Mindz Entertainment, a company created by his cousin Robert Walls that was based out of their hometown in Kansas. With the assistance of Jerrod Place aka Heavy P., the trio set out to enhance the music scene in their area. With the help of Hi-Point Studios the Midwest Invasion Volume 1 was released in 2007. Consisting of primarily Tone Kapone and Heavy P. it was a building block in their development. Having wrote the majority of the CD, the duo learned first hand what it took to put a full project together. Shortly after the album was completed recording Tone relocated to the sunny sands of Tampa, Florida. Upon the move he began working on his solo project and meeting members of the Tampa Hip-Hop Community. After months of preparation his solo CD, Settin’ the Tone, is finally finished and should be released in the upcoming months. Recorded entirely at Twice On Sunday Recording Studio it features production from Namaste, D/Will, M. Rell, TraxDaMental and the SuperDaves and is highly anticipated and widely awaited.
