This song was written together with my younger brother Greg from M.O.D.F. He wrote most of the melodies and I helped him arrange everything. We both performed various instruments in the recording.

My songs are my soul. These have been collected over years of songwriting and performing on single cassette decks, 4 tracks, and even digital recorders. In some cases the quality is pretty bad and in some cases so are the performances, but overall the emotion of each of these songs comes through as intended and is therefor (in my opinion) complete. I believe any form of music has something to offer, so long as I just listen....

Story behind the song
I heard my younger brother plays a few of the melodies that he wrote and enjoyed them very much. After putting all together it had sadness that reminded me of what I felt having to take my son home to my ex-wife and how much I would miss him, but it also had a triumphant ending that made me remember I would of course see him again. There are a few hiccups in the performance but in our defense, the accoustic guitars and piano were recorded on the first take and the lead guitars on the next take and then I added the strings. We made no attempt to go back and correct it because we felt it had a nice raw feel to it that helped it.

Very very beautiful song - tons of feeling and very well composed. The instrument changes really keep the interest level going. I thought the ending was great and captured the emotions you were trying to portray. Great job.
