While at a music seminar in Nashville my wife and I were walking near a small river, when she started picking up different colored stones and puting them in her pockets.

Story behind the song
My wife likes to collect stones that are unusual and while at a music seminar in Nashville we were taking a walk along a small river. Where we live we only have plain stones along the rivers and streams but because of the many different mines in the area there are many beautiful colored stones so my wife was filling up her pockets. She said "I hope I don't fall in the water because I'll never get out"
Lyrics
(Chorus) I've got stones in my pockets, I got worries in my heart You can identify the colors, to what sets them apart But like the polished stones from our worries do work out From the stones of many colors to what lifes all about (First verse) Blue is for the evening to calm your nights at home And red is for the anger for when things that go wrong And black is the colorl for when you stand alone....and white is the peace that lies in your very soul (Chorus) For I've got stones in my pockets, I got worries in my heart You can identify the colors, to what sets them apart But liked the polished stones from our worries do work out From the stones of many colors to what lifes all about (Second verse) You can find stones of colors, that were lying on the ground But if you pick to many, they will surely weigh you down But liked the polished stone that you carry in your hand Are like the polished stones that you found there in the sand (Chorus) For I've got stones in my pockets, I got worries in my heart You can identify the colors, to what sets them apart But like the polished stones fom our worries do work out From the stones of many colors to what lifes all about

I like the analogy of the stones representing feelings.
