Here's some food for thought... Produced by DJ SunTzu
Artist picture
Ethniks is a hip hop crew originating from Michigan and comprises of three talented Asian American musicians. Its members found interest in the art at an early age and ultimately formed the group in 2005. When it comes to content, Ethniks cannot be contested. Emcees Evidenz and JPham weave in metaphorical wordplay with transcended knowledge and Confucian wisdom while DJ SunTzu provides the illest beats to complement the spoken word. The "backwards e" represents individuality, uniqueness, and resistance to norms and trends. It's a symbol that reminds us to ALWAYS stay true to ourselves each day, every day.

Lyrics
Ethniks –Fork in the Road Every day is a new day It’s hard for me to find the right words to say War and politics are global but when it comes to Money and my girl and my person it gets personal I lived a quarter of my life strong, damn Came from crawling as a infant to walking as a man Acquired many eons worth of intellect and introspect I built my mind’s frame like a cerebral architect But when I wake up from my slumber all the pain is still there Empty bottles on the ground, ashes fill the atmosphere I been here 21 years and nothin has changed Every ghetto on this planet looks exactly the same I put my headphones to my ears, cracked out on musical rock My legs walked me down the block up to the corner and stopped Streams of light came through the clouds, a moment of clarity The inner voice finally grabbed a hold of me and he said I’m eclipsing these cats but I refuse to stop Cuz its time to bring this hip hop back like a chop Im tryna hustle for change but not dollars and cents Gotta speak my minds desire til it all makes sense Make these people believe in what I know as the truth Spittin 16 bars of serum when I step in the booth Time to make a stand against hip hop hypocrisy And like Nas put an end to this mediocrity Cuz time passes quickly but nothin has changed Forget the time when seein Asian emcees was strange Cuz hip hop ain’t a matter of Black or White It’s the words that I put in these rhymes that I write Why cower in darkness, lemme turn on the light Give the people what they really want, not what they like And these people are starvin like straight out of classes No mystery meats, we bringin soul food back to the masses Drugs and women, shit, that’s a given So how do you know when you really livin? What’s lost is lost in a twist and a twirl We all live and die by a turn of this world And it hurts more than me to stand idly by Like an obsidian bruise against an ivory sky I touch the pen to the paper, rest the lids of my eyes Hang up the cape in the closet and take off the disguise This is me, better yet, this is my true spirit In these lines lie my essence, give it all when I give it Is it enough? I don’t know, it’s hard to say Stay up all night to write it just to throw it away And I keep goin on cuz my mind is made If you keep workin hard one day you’ll get paid I’m not talkin bout the dollar—I’m talkin bout my vision And I swear I’m on the road to riches
