Acoustic Rock music
At the moment the band is me on vocals, guitars, bass, keyboards, drums and harmonica......
Story behind the song
Based around an original idea by Pearlthekat, some of us contributed lyrics, and I had a few spare chords lying around.....
Lyrics
She kept her world inside a bag,
Carried on her shoulder,
A pot-pourri of items,
Some new some older,
Some are dear and some forgotten,
Memories beyond a cost,
If ever she was to lose one,
A page from her life would be lost.....
The faded pictures in a wallet,
Of people she once knew,
The old flame of whom she thought,
"I'll end up back with you,"
The mirror she holds to her face,
To repair her make-up,
To cover the tears and scars,
Of all her break-ups,
Some are dear and some forgotten,
Memories beyond a cost,
If ever she was to lose one,
A page from her life would be lost.....
Digging even further down,
As if it mattered,
She comes across a handkerchief,
All too worn and tattered,
It still holds the tears she shed,
From an affair gone bad,
Now it serves as a reminder,
Of the love she once had,
Some are dear and some forgotten,
Memories beyond a cost,
If ever she was to lose one,
A page from her life would be lost.....
Past the key to her apartment,
The one that he returned,
When he told her it was over,
As far as he's concerned,
An empty miniature brandy,
Despatched with urgency,
For medicinal purposes only,
Or heartbreak emergency
Some are dear and some forgotten,
Memories beyond a cost,
If ever she was to lose one,
A page from her life would be lost.....
Finally a phone that's playing,
The rigtone that was their song,
A tune that tells her he's calling,
She wonders why, it's been so long.....
