Mocha was born on June 29th in Washington D.C. and moved to Denver, CO at the age of 5. Like many vocalists, she started singing in her church choir, but transitioned to school choirs, where she was trained in genres ranging from spirituals to Gregorian chants. Growing up, she would harmonize with her mother and sister every chance she could. Although her musical taste is eclectic, she was most influenced by Patti LaBelle, Stevie Wonder and Diana Ross. In college, she became involved in modeling. Not being able to resist the performing bug she joined the dance crew Major Damage and sang in a duo called On Point. Joining first as a new model for Golden Voice Productions, she auditioned to be a vocalist. Impressing the staff with her talent she was signed as a recording artist. Early into the production of her project Golden Voice Productions staff knew they had someone special. Listening to the songs Mocha created brought thoughts of artists like Aaliyah, Alicia Keys, and even Sade to mind. Currently residing in Ohio but considering Aurora, CO home, Mocha is a total package from dancing to singing with her own sexy style.
