The song is a tribute to Jim Morrison and The Doors. I DIDN'T see him in Paris! Some quotes I read between his lines. 'If I will show you mine, will you show me yours?' refers to his Soul. video at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2d85PRToP0

Story behind the song
When I became a hippie in 1969, I hitched into Venice, California in Los Angeles and landed literally in his footprints. He and the Doors were on tour and making headlines but Venice was still full of him and stories about him from people who had known him. Each day I passed the little courtyard which was photographed for the cover of the "Strange Days" album. For awhile, I was the lover of the girl who had been the lover of that photographer. When I formed a band, one of the first studios we viewed to rent had been the Doors practice studio in West L.A. The bands old drum cases were still there in a corner, where they had been thrown after the money arrived, and it was possible to buy good equipment. I often passed Olivia's restaurant on Rose Avenue, which he described in "Soul Kitchen, but before I could eat there it was condemned and torn down. I walked everyday on the Boardwalk, where the decision to "form a band and become rich and famous" was made in conversation between Jim and Ray Manzarek?. We had breathed the same air, seen the same faces, and absorbed the L.A. feel and viewpoint. Therefore I have always had a special affinity for Jim Morrison and The Doors. One day recently, after a lifetime of chewing on my L.A. memories, this song arrived. I hope you enjoy it.
Lyrics
Jim Morrison..... (In Memorial) copyright 2006 by Victor Compton Jim Morrison came to L.A. town. Jim Morrison burned his bridges down. Jim Morrison sang with "The Doors." " If I show you mine, will you show me yours?" Jim Morrison touched the forbidden. Jim Morrison found what was hidden. Jim Morrison spread the word around, "if it isn't on the surface, it must be Underground." Oh and this is the end, my beautiful friend. Lay down and love me, 'cause this is the end. When the music's over, you can turn out the light. Lay down and love me 'til the end, of the Night. Jim Morrison quoted William Blake. Jim Morrison made the city shake. Jim Morrison shouted to the sky, "If you want to be remembered, you only have to die!" Jim Morrison slept on Venice Beach. Jim Morrison was always out of reach. Jim Morrison wore tight, leather jeans; and all the women wanted to lick the leather clean. Oh and this is the end, my beautiful friend. Lay down and love me, 'cause this is the end. When the music's over, you can turn out the light. Lay down and love me 'til the end, of the Night. Jim Morrison was magic on the Stage. Jim Morrison made the crowds engage. Jim Morrison tried to get away.....but, he didn't die in Paris. I saw him yesterday!
