Neo-Soul Groove-
an 'Urban Lament', about an
11-tear old Mpls. girl,
who was a shooting victim.
contains elements of almost everything;
needs more than 1 category.
Hi.
Story behind the song
Tyesha Edwards' tragic
& untimely death came
when a stray bullet
from a 'drive-by' shooting found her,
inside her South Minneapolis home,
doing homework with her little sister.
I wrote this music in her memory.
I also organized one of the many benefits
for her family,

“Tears 4 Tyesha” Lyrics:
I never guessed that you would be the one to
Sacrifice the Love your heart was beating
For all my life you’ve been my closest friend,
my confidant, my place of retreating
Sister, you have always been my friend
We used to hang together, thick & thin
But I did not know you’d be the first to leave
I did not know that He would take your hand
Now I cannot see the forest for the trees
But I know that this must be the Maker’s Plan
This must be His Master Plan
How could God take away such innocence and
leave us here with the ones who did this?
I guess they call it Heaven, because the purest hearts
are Up There cheering for us.

Rap Lyrics:
Now as I open up the book to the stories I’m told, I’m fearing what I’m seeing watching this horror unfold; Again, the Lord’s taking souls to fight disease, with no cure, is acting up again. But no one can sin & be pure at the same time. That’s why I’m here, writing this rhyme, Reading the fear in your mind that there’s no meaning for life. Yet, the instinct to survive is in the image of every human at times in our lives. Sometimes, we feel we’re losing; it’s the night we cried, we all shed our tears. Boy, how time flies, year by year. Now, we sit here, we’re just praying for the best; Lifting our Spirits and giving thanks for what’s left. We set up to get stringer as our lives live on longer. We’re building off the hunger, We’re praying for tomorrow; Don’t bring us no sorrow, and Don’t bring us no pain; Shed a tear for TYESHA,,
And let’s all make a change.
