The Evening Funeral formed as a project band by guitarist Jose Sanchez in December 2004, still as a member of his previous band EvilXInnocence. He then began writing material for the project after his departure of EvilXInnocence. He soon started recruiting members that following summer in 2005. It was a slow process of getting the band where it needed to be, along side the numerous line-up changes and writers' block. He then spent the remainder of the year continuing his writing. He then finally starting doing small shows with members; Danny Camacho (drums), Ulysses and Gio Saucedo (bass and vocals), and Frank Qualls (guitar) then, under a different name, Rising As It Burns. The beginning of 2007 was another downfall as the members went their separate ways and gave Jose enough time to continue with his original concept of The Evening Funeral. Jose teamed up with former bandmate Danny Camacho of Rising As It Burns, Arturo Navarro of Beyond Tranquility. The Evening Funeral is currently in the process of writing more material and planning small shows for the summer of 2008. We are in the process of recording new materials, give us some time.
