Story behind the song
Playing in bars and clubs there are always people that are oblivious to the music, but there are also those who are there specifically there for it, to lose themselves in another place once in awhile. This song was actually a pre-production demo for the studio. I write all my songs on an acoustic guitar first just to strip it down to the raw feeling. The song was recorded in full with drums and arrangement but the plain acoustic demo came out so well that I added it as a bonus to the CD. So far people seem to tlike the demo better than the full version. Sometimes it happens that way. Let me know what you think.
Lyrics
Take Me Home © 2002 Rivers/BMI My voice is tired and the night is winding down. My Ears are ringing from a noisy bar room crowd. And note for note the voices drown it out. The drinks are flowing and the music is way to loud. But in the corner there’s the faithful sound of believers singing: Take me home They sit in silence and drink the night away. And make believe the worries just might fade away. They come to laugh and stay on solid ground. Because most are hurting, living hand to mouth. But in the corner there’s the faithful sound of believers singing: Take me Home
