Hey there everyone! I've just set up this Sound Click account so that I can share my music with you, the listener. I'm a 20 year old solo artist who is taking off from school in order to pursue my music ambitions. I write, record, and play all of the songs myself (recording multiple tracks is time consuming and difficult, but if you keep at it, you may surprise yourself). I have finished my first album, "Apparition", and all eleven tracks are available for free download right here on my SoundClick page!. I will be posting new material from time to time as I finish it, and every now and then will be posting some covers. So, enjoy the music, download it, and let me know what you think!

Story behind the song
I had first heard about the ongoing crisis in Darfur from a friend while I was still in high school. At the time, I had no idea what they were talking about, and I never followed up on it. However, over time, I began hearing things on the news and reading about the situation in the newspaper. As I read, I became convinced that something needed to be done by the international community to help these poor people who have suffered so much, and are continuing to suffer with every passing day. The fact that something like this can happen after the horrors of the Second World War is disturbing to me. So, I became motivated to write this song to express my feelings on the situation in Darfur, and help spread awareness.

song of the soul

david - i have to ask you what made you write the song for darfur, how you heard of darfur and learned about it. i also have to applaude you. your lyrics are inspiring and halting - i love how your vocals become stronger and stronger. you kind of go off key in certain places and get a little pitchy, but in other places sing strong and beautifully so i'll put that off to live music - it happens! a great song david. peace---jd
