Another work in progress. Once we iron out the details we'll get a singer to lay down the vocal work.
Aspiring songwriters Terrill Coggins (lyricist) and Paul Curtis (musician) make up what is currently Project Destiny. Project Destiny is about the songwriting skills of these two childhood friends. With the intent to pitch their songs to a variety of singers Paul and Terrill have focused on trying to make a song as marketable as possible to reach an audience who appreciate the human journey and struggle each song delves into.
Story behind the song
Another work in progress. Paul and I are trying to capture the "feel" of cruising down the Pacific Coast Highway, with the top down, and the saltwater in the air. Love the guitar work on this one. This was the first song he and I wrote together, and he only time we've ever written a song while being together. So far, the rest of our collaborations have been done over the internet as he is in Oklahoma City and I'm in Tacoma, WA.
Lyrics
Baby are you ready?
Let’s get in the car and go.
Leave while the sun is setting,
Let tomorrow find us gone.
The answers will be clearer
Further down the road.
Tell me that you hear me,
And you’re ready to go.
Chorus:
Let’s chase these Pacific Breezes,
Come and give me your saltwater kisses.
Baby you’re just what I’ve needed,
You’re all that I’ve been missing.
See how the wind moves where it pleases,
That’s me and you and Pacific breezes.
Verse 2:
Baby, aren’t you ready
To hear the music again?
Seems we keep forgetting
This pain has got to end
What’s the point in fighting
We can leave this behind.
Let’s make this our promise
Pacific Breezes clear our mind…
Bridge:
Something’s come between us.
Can you hear me calling out your name?
Can you believe in us?
Can you forgive the pain?
