This is an inspirational song that describes a decision that we all face from time to time. Do I trust in a God I cannot see to lead me through hazy days or do I depend only upon what I can experience with my five senses.
My music has a variety of styles - from inspirational country, blues, contemparary, and southern gospel. I wrote all eleven songs on my first CD with the except
Story behind the song
I had just visited family in California where I was able to visit the vineyards, and then to lay on the beach where I marveled at the majesty of God demonstrated in the splashing waves and the sparkling sands. We also visited the Redwood forest where quiet peace radiated the presence of the Creator. I returned home where in the middle of the night I lay on the floor at the top of our stairs crying out to God, seeking for direction in my life. I had just witnessed him in the glory of his handiwork, but couldn't seem to see him in my present situation. That night, at the point of my surrender, I wrote this song . Peace returned as I made the decision to walk on by faith and not by sight.
Lyrics
Where I'm At
(verse I)
I can see you in the ocean,
feel your imprint in the sand.
I hear you whisper in the forest,
see your works throughout the land.
You are bigger than my mountains,
much larger than my plans,
You are God so I submit unto your hand.
(chorus)
And I believe you,
when I can't see you.
I trust your Word to be a lamp unto my feet.
And I will follow you,
just because you're you
and your eyes can see beyond where I'm at,
where I'm at.
You are faithful in my struggle,
trustworthy when I fall.
You are mighty, holy, merciful,
your love towers over all.
When answers seem so small and distant
my peace wavers like the sea,
I call your name and you come resue me.
(repeat chorus)
And no matter where I go, you know,
where I'm at -
You're where I'm at.
Wonderful song and AWESOME vocal! Thumbs UP!
