Story behind the song
A bought a mandolin and wrote this song for it , even though I don't know much about mandolin , never played one before, thought it reminded me of the country and things young boys think about growing up in 60's
Lyrics

Hi Dave, Man...I really love this one! The tune is happy and has a great message...but mostly I'm entranced by the music and your production. There is a lot going on and it all keeps the listener interested. All the layers of guitars and other stringed instruments...amazing! The vocal layers are incredible as well. The way you switch up the guitar solo from one channel to the other...but not panning...cool! Nice guitar tone also...sounds totally 60's Strat! Very nice work buddy...you are amazing! :D

Another great piece from the limitless vaults of your creativity,Dave.Very cool arrangment patterns/grooves,-sounds very original and working seamlessly with your vocal style.Enojoyed it very much!Very inspirin',as well.Somethin' new to learn for me. What comes to the Rev-addin',there's no a simple solution to it.It's the whole Zen actaually. Almost any mix will benefit from proper rev add,-but I'm talking 'bout using Rev for space-separation in between different instruments, not about just drowning the whole mix in one nest-rv.Rev give your brain the clues for situating in the 3-D space. If properly used it adds more clarity and articulation, and if you abuse it,-it will mess up your mix. So,it's rather up to you,my friend

Dave, this one is a keeper. Love the dominant 7th notes the falsetto is hitting on the chorus - GREAT touch to distinguish the major chords of the stanzas from the chorus. As Tony said, you have the gift for pop poetry and lyrics. You manage to conjure up brilliant images while expressing deep emotion without being sentimental or sappy. These guitar/mandolin/banjo textures are fascinating. You have a wonderful ear for building textures. My only ding is the aural spacing - my own achilles as well. A bit more echo or reverb on the various tracks would make it sound larger and a bit more roomy. But that's just nit-picking; this tracks stands as is. Its a psychedelic treat that really appeals to the listener on multiple levels. I wish I could do that! Congrats on a beauty! Your fan, Johnny

Hi David, Love the mandolin. First time playing it I am impressed. Perhaps I need one of those? This is mandolin meets 60 psychedelic. Lyrics are excellent. You paint such a story with your words. Only ding I have is on the melody I did not hear a bridge or something to break the main melody. Overall production is very good and your electric guitar is sounding excellent. The opening mandolin reminds me of Pauls new one everybody get down tonight everybody going have fun tonight. Oh and Supper Bell I thought only in western PA we said supper. Neat.

I really think you did a great job, David both on lyrics and music..this is really different once again, and your individual style comes through more and more. :) This song brings back memories of when I was a little girl, though I KNOW this was written from a boy's perspective...you're right, we really DIDN'T know we had it so good. :) Thank you for the feedback on my new song, David...I've working way too hard these days..and not on here much during the week. :) Your friend, Tammy :)
