Hi! Welcome to my music page! I write, sing and produce contemporary Christian inspirational and worship songs that reflect my journey of faith, my experiences in ministry as a missionary, and multi-cultural background, in both English and Mandarin Chinese. I was born in Taiwan. I lived in South America for 4 years before I came to study in the U.S. After I became a Christian, I also did some graduate study in Biblical Counseling. In 1996, God called me to go into the International Student Ministry as a missionary with ISI (International Students, Inc.). My husband David also got his calling and quit his post-doctoral research job at the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab to join me in ministry in 2000. In 1994, I prayed for the gift of songwriting so I could tell people of God's love through songs, and God has been blessing me with songs after songs ever since. Over the years I gradually feel the Lord's nudging to publish these songs as a faithful servant should do with the talents given to him, particularly after surviving a car accident which reminded me to seize the time to use these songs for God's purpose and glory. And I thank God for my husband David who has given me tremendous encouragement and technical support to help me fulfill this music ministry calling. Most of my songs come from my meditation of God's Word, my own journey of faith and my experiences in ministry. The themes range from Christian growth, praise & worship, prayers, evangelistic messages, to some counseling-related topics. While the styles of music may vary from Pop, Ballads, Dance, Jazz to Latin, Chinese, most are soothing, uplifting and upbeat. My prayer is that God will use these songs to encourage and edify those who hear them as He has blessed me, and to help people come to know Him and make Him known. My Chinese CD "Soaring High" was released in Dec. 2009. Physical CDs and digital albums are available through Amazon.com. Songs also on Spotify, Apple Music, etc. Thank you for your support. Story behind the song
This is a joyful praise song that came out of my experiences of volunteering with the ISI International Student Fellowship in Buffalo, NY many years ago. At that time, we would often sing praise songs together, and sometimes I would go with the campus ministers there to sing at churches as they encouraged people to take part in God's global outreach right here on the U.S. University campuses. Often times as I was singing there with my friends from Africa, South America, Asia and Europe, I would feel like I was getting a glimpse of heaven. It was almost as if I was already in that beautiful scenario described in Revelations 7:9-12 where believers from every nation, tribe and language come to the throne of God to sing praises to Him in heaven! It’s just beautiful! Years later after I got on staff with ISI, I also had opportunities when I would sing with a group of international students and scholars about God's love for the nations. People would come up to us saying how they were moved to tears seeing the nations singing praises to God. There is just something about seeing that heavenly picture, and coming together to worship as God's one big family no matter which part of the world you are from! The Bible tells us: ?For God so loved the world, that He gave his only son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life?(John 3:16). Jesus Himself became the lamb of sacrifice that died in our place. He has come for people of all nations everywhere who is ready and willing to welcome Him into their hearts. There is nothing in this world like having God in our lives. He gives our lives real meaning and hope unto everlasting. His love inspires us everyday to live for Him and love others. I hope you will come put your trust in Him if you don't already have. Together, let us come get a glimpse of heaven's glory as we sing to the God Almighty!
