Singer Poet Teacher Pagan Nerd
I've been a singer, guitarist, percussionist, and songwriter for Celtic-American folk rock band Emerald Rose since 1996; my major instrument for the band is the bodhran, or traditional Irish frame drum. Being a singer-songwriter, however, has been part of my musical life since I was a teenager, and my solo endeavors return to this root. Many of my songs take their inspiration from the mystical path, Earth-centered spirituality, and Celtic mythology. I also continue to sing songs from the Celtic and American folk traditions. In addition, I'm a storyteller, stage magician, and former actor and dancer, so I have many performance skills to draw on.

Story behind the song
I wrote these lines at the end of a trip to Ireland as an ode to all those people who'd gone with us on the bus.
Lyrics
Sing Lyrics by Arthur Hinds Though we glory in words and in music An end we're bringing Though not to provoke, your patience testing Of you, kind folk, we are requesting Hold most precious these few ancient moments As they come springing From limits broken and liberties taken From right names spoken and words reawakened Keep found wisdom well banked in your heartbeat And go forth singing Of joy and honor, comfort and beauty Truth and laughter, reverence and duty Go and sing to the anxious haste of the world Sing copyright 2008 Arthur Hinds
