For over 40 years I played lead guitar and did back-up vocals in various country bands. It has been one of the greatest thrills of my life. But, these days I stay at home and compose songs, both lyrics and music. My writing style is much broader than just country music. I also write southern rock, a little blues, lots of smooth jazz and movie themes and even some latin music. I have been writing for about 20 years and hope to for quite a few more years.

Lyrics
U-Turn To Salvation (v1) Sometimes you follow roads in life You think are just one way Chasin’ thrills or fantasies Can lead you far astray You feel you’re runnin’ full out With no governor or brakes But God is out there waitin’ One prayer is all it takes Chorus When you’re headed to damnation Temptation’s everywhere Remember God will let you Make a U-turn anywhere Look to Him for guidance He’ll show you the right way A U-turn to salvation All you gotta do is pray (v2) Temptation’s always out there It’s easy to get lost You go after evil dreams Unconscious of the cost Let Jesus be your GPS Your Tom Tom or your map Don’t take the wrong direction Fall into Satan’s trap Repeat Chorus Instrumental Break Repeat Chorus A U-turn to salvation Let the spirit lead the way A U-turn to salvation All you have to do is pray A U-turn to Salvation Let the spirit lead the way © 2008 John W.
