Story behind the song
This Lyle Lovett tribute was written on 7/13/1999. I was staying in a motel in Cortland, New York for an out of town meeting. While channel surfing that evening, I stubbled across a Lyle Lovett interview with Charlie Rose. The lyrics, including the title, are based on some of the things Lyle said in his discussion with Charlie Rose.
