I wrote this little jazz/swing tune in January of 1994. My vocal is accompanied by my Guild 6 string guitar on rhythm and lead with Band-in-a-Box providing the 'RealDrums,' midi piano and midi bass.

Story behind the song
Nearly every relationship goes through periodic hot and cold spells. It takes a little work and communication to warm things up again.
Lyrics
These past few weeks together have got me wondering If we're still as good together as we were in the warmth of spring. I'm hoping it's just cabin fever, with this snow piled all around; Cooling down our passions as it covers up the ground. Refrain Do you think we could arrange a January Thaw; Turn up the heat, clear out the clouds, and melt the snow away? I really think that we could use a January Thaw If we want our love to see another sunny, summer day. I really don't mind the flurries, but the blizzards do me in. And these icey walls between us have got my patience wearing thin. What do you say we slip away for a weekend rendezvous; Talk and dance and heat the sheets up like we used to do? Refrain I used to think that our love could weather any storm. But lately there's been such a chill I'm worried I may never get warm. If we keep on drifting like the snows the blow in every year, I'm afraid our love may melt away before the spring is here. Refrain
