Motorbiking at its best! If you can't imagine a combination of Status Quo, Bob Dylan, John Lennon and the Beach Boys, well you'll just have to hear it and form your own opinion.

Bright Spark are two guys and a girl centred on Norwich, England, playing and singing their own brand of retro Brit Pop, softcore rock, and a wide range of othe
We are primarily a working live band and one of the busiest in the area. We enjoy every sort of gig, from private functions in swish hotels to social clubs and from sweaty rock venues to ballroom dances. Our original material reflects this and we write songs and instrumentals that are also very varied in style. All three of us play and sing and we are noted for our harmony work and our instrumental ability. We are an unusual combination - the excitement of being a new and inventive band, with the sure touch that comes only from many years of experience.

Story behind the song
Bright Spark drummer/vocalist Pete used to be in the 59 Club when he was only 15 and still has the tattoo on his arm. John Bartram wrote the song to recapture those days. Rockin at the Ace Café (The Legend Has Been Reborn) was held up as we didn't have a picture to put on SoundClick. I suppose the rock'n'roll thing to do would have been to just lift the one we liked from the Ace Café's website – as everyone else seems to have done, as that picture can be found all over the internet. But we decided to do the decent thing, so wrote to them to ask their permission to use it. They wrote back saying they wanted to hear the song on a CD, so I said that letting them have a CD of the song (for free) and our permission to use it on their website and jukebox sounded a fair exchange for letting us use the pic, which after all would have been free advertising for them. So I prepared and printed the artwork, the label etc, made up the CD and packed it, walked into the City to get it weighed and posted, paid the postage etc. Then we heard nothing for a week, tried to ring several times, eventually got through and was told no, we can't use the pic as the Cafe were promoting another artiste who already has a song of the same name as ours, which they had known all along. So we feel a little bit sore and they are probably feeling very smug that they've got our CD for nothing with an unreleased song that nobody but us had even heard until now! So now we have our own pic, it's not nearly such a flattering one of the place as the other one but hey that's their choice.
Lyrics
Freewheelin, gut-feelin, everybody's double dealin, live fast, ride past. Hey! you wanna make it last! Look slick, run quick, be aware of every trick, and go down, look round, lend your ear to every sound! Look out boy! you better watch what you say, cos we're Rockin at the Ace Café, boppin at the Ace Café! Motorway, easy lay, biker girl don't need to pay, large truck, getting stuck, now you shouldn't try your luck, and high fly, do or die, did we really touch the sky? Go getta french letter, now's the time to feel better... Look out boy, you better have a nice day, cos we're Rockin at the Ace Café, boppin at the Ace Café! All the cats across the nation are getting hip to the new sensation, so rev your engines up at dawn, cos the legend has been reborn, now the legend has been reborn! Smooth talkin, street walkin, all the girls are cool-lookin, all night, hold tight, you don't really wanna fight! Hey there! She's fair! go on down, if you dare. Come on son, have some fun, you can easy do a ton! Look out boy, at the end of the day, cos we're Rockin at the Ace Café, boppin at the Ace Café! Tyre-slashing, car-crashing, we don't need no scooter-bashing, hazy day, have your say, grab a girl on the way, take your bike if you like, maybe even take your trike, and look hard, steal a yard, better play your ace-card. Look out boy, you gotta get your own way, cos we're Rockin at the Ace Café, boppin at the Ace Café! Rockin at the Ace Café, boppin at the Ace Café!
