It’s a carpenter shop and the work never stops
It’s a carpenter shop and the work never stops
Because our walls are straight and our price is fair
And we never finish late and we genuinely care
About the father’s business.
Joseph:
Our first born son is an amazing boy
He’s bright and handsome and he brings me joy
He has a way with wood that makes it live
It’s a gift he has that I didn’t give.
And way down deep inside I want to burst with pride
When he tells everyone right straight out
That he must be about his father’s business.
Jesus:
It’s been this way from the very first day
I’ve been telling Dad that I’ll go away
I’m trying hard to help him understand
But he’d rather see a nail in my hand
He’d like to see me more at the family store
But one day soon I’ll have to walk out
Because I must be about my father’s business.
James:
As far as brothers go, Jesus is the best
Mom was right, he is specially blessed.
But when he talks sometimes I don’t know what he means.
Like the other day we were carving beams
And he lifted one high with a tear in his eye
And said to me “James there is no doubt–
Soon I must be about my father’s business.”
