Upbeat melodic riff rock / pop rock. Boy meets girl, girl turns him down and he finds another girl... ...have we heard this story before?
This brand of rock is like: The 1960's Beatles and Hendrix meets the 1990's Tragically Hip and Nirvana.
Story behind the song
We were going to the studio with a song that was basically written by Dave. I hurried upstairs and basically wrote this in a hurry so I could be a songwriter too. I didn't want to be left out!
We recorded it and both songs got airplay.
Later, we made a video for "Wastin' Time" and it was aired on Toronto's MUCH MUSIC. That was a major coup for our indie band.
Lyrics
Oh, feeling so low
I just got to let her know
Oh, she could be mine
If I could just time it right
I've seen a face
She won't leave my mind
Everything I need she's got
Oh got a plan I'm going out to wait
By the entrance to the parking lot
Here she comes I can't let her go
Without telling her or letting her know
She didn't see me here or notice me there
It's the same thing every day
Wondering
How can she know
Wastin' Time well
Who is to know
Once again, a very radio friendly sound, so well written, excellent! Great slide work, killer tone all around.
