Story behind the song
Every summer retailers try to capitalize on the Christmas theme with a "Christmas in July" sale. The truth of the mater is, there is nothing about their efforts that reminds me much of Christmas. That really is too bad.
Lyrics
Christmas In July Words & Music by Tom Wilson © 2007 I’ve heard of Christmas in July And have to ask you Why we can’t feel the same way when,… The evergreens are ever green It seems and then Tinsel can hang the same way too The lights look just the same And still we try in vain To recreate the joy December brings So why not Christmas in July I wonder if we try We can find a way to see We don’t need snow to feel the glow within our souls All we need is someone to believe The lights look just the same And still we try in vain To recreate the joy December brings So I’ll try Christmas in July And if you ask me why I will gladly say to you If even for the briefest moment it arrives Won’t that make us feel that more alive If we had Christmas If we found Christmas If we had Christmas in July
