Lake Fork Verne and his banjo. Original country and Americana songs. Songs of yesteryear, growing up during the great depression 1930's and the way things are
Just me and my banjo...writing and singing about how things used to be long ago in the 30;s and 40's and how those experiences affect today. I started out wanting to get on record these stories and songs for my grandchildren; but after doing it for a while, others have expresses interest so we are recording and putting them out there.

Hi Verne!! How's my best banjo buddy?? Well, I hope! We are passing around nasty colds here. This song 'Burning Stalks' reminded me of how my husband and his cousin 'accidently' burned down one of the barns on the family farm while playing fireworks when they were little!! His Grandpa never told his mother till years later because he didn't want him to get into trouble! His grandpa had the kindest heart and one of the hardest working men I have yet to meet. I don't recall him burning fields like your song but I bet he did. I was the 'city girl' and alway's enjoyed visiting the farm and was alway's amazed at the amount of work to be done..........even weekends and Holidays! That's what makes your music so neat. It's such a testimony of time and day's gone by. I did get your message, THANKS! It's alway's fun to hear from you. I have not been on as much lately with the busy Christmas season. I hope yours is filled with family, friends, and a warm house with happy moments. Merry Chri
