Story behind the song
This is one of many songs I have written for the St. Matthias Episcopal Church (East Aurora, NY) Sunday School program for use in the Sunday "Gathering" before the children split up into their various classes. My vocal recording is supported by an overdubbing with my cornet along with a Band In A Box supported accompaniment.
Lyrics
As the Wisemen watched the stars for a sign of Jesus' birth, Keep me watchful for the signs of the true Christ's return to earth. Refrain No one knows what day or hour The Son of Man will come again. No one knows except the Father. No one knows and no one can. Let Christ's words live on through me. Help me watch, pray and obey. Christ will come, but we know not when. Keep me ready night and day. Refrain Heav'n and Earth will pass away; Not the words of Christ the Lord. Keep me watchful every hour. Help me know the Great Reward. Refrain
