Story behind the song
I took a Songwriting Class at Church with Pastor Steve Rahter as Teacher- http://www.praisetabernacle.com/ He would give us little snippets of a tune and homework was to come up with a song. I was going on vacation so I need to send back something that night. With God’s help it just came to me. I was that “Stranger”
Lyrics
STRANGER Lyric by Reg Sappie –Melody by Steve Rahter 10/16/2006 Am Em I always thought that you were way up there Somehow to busy to really care About somebody - So small like me F Em So full of fear and Insecurity. Am Em I never thought that you were my friend My heart was cold and I would not bend Maybe that‘s all about to end F You came near to me Em Now it’s clear to me Am That’s why you came Am Em I never thought you knew my name I left you standin out in the rain I cried out and in you came F Em Please forgive me and you saved me Am From my self Am Em I never thought you were my friend My heart was cold and it would not bend But maybe that‘s all about to end F You went from stranger Em Am To the Changer of my Heart
