Let's Have a Group Again

This is a song I wrote to appeal to friends to remember how fun it is to have a group. You might recognize some Todd Rundgren influence similar to his 'Deface the Music' material.

I am a singer-songwriter who writes and performs progressive rock and light rock ballads on piano, keyboards and guitar. I sometimes bring in my wife, friends and former bandmembers to assist with my performances, but with busy schedules amongst us, more often than not these are usually solo performances enhanced with MIDI back-up tracks, which provide a beautiful contrast of a live vocal and guitar or piano over a pre-recorded background.

Story behind the song
This is a song I wrote to appeal to friends to remember how fun it is to have a group. One has to get past all the earlier failures to communicate and the negativity passed along by some.
Lyrics
LET'S HAVE A GROUP AGAIN Let's Have a Group Again - Do you remember when we were friends? - Before those bad things were spread, - And it was said that we were reaching the end - We could be reaching out - And getting more of what it's about - But we've got to rewind, - And go find what put our fire out - Let's Have a Group Again - Do you remember when we were friends? - Don't be the lonely one - Don't be an "only one" - Let's Have a Group Again - Well they finished us with a lie - And said that we should not even try - But your friends are here waiting - And we're going to get together and fly! - Let's Have a Group Again - Come over and see your friends - Don't be the lonely one - Don't be an "only one" - Let's Have a Group Again! - - September 1996 Scott Gordon
