This is an adaptation/cover of the song Forever Autumn from Jeff Wayne's amazing War of the Worlds. Started off as me testing the Metal Shop pack for the XT and ended up being a whole song.
I suppose this'll be for testing stuff....
Story behind the song
The original this track is based on is Forever Autumn, part of the Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds (if you don't know it, get it and devour it - it's simply incredible).
I grew up listening to that album from an early age and have wanted to cover the entire album for a long time. This is just a bit of a mess around.
I bought the Metal Shop pack 2 days ago and wanted to test a couple of patches I made with the 5150 and Triple Rectifier amps. I thought the amp sounds were pretty cool and would suit a slightly epic song, and decided that rather than write one, I could do a Gothic metal-style cover version of this song's verse.
I ended up really enjoying working on it. It might not hang together too well; I was coming up with a heavy version of a verse, recording it, then coming up with a heavy version of the next bit, recording that, etc. etc.
