Lyrics
[09-25-07] U.S. Military Cemeteries are literally running out of room. Fort Riley in Kansas has now joined military cemeteries across the country who will now have to start burying bodies on top of bodies. And when you start assembling the fallen like deli meats on a sandwich, maybe it’s time to start talking about “The Why”. Not so fast says Congress, who, like a family who refuses to acknowledge the vacation ended a week ago, still pretend to be hard at work. Apparently, the most pressing issue of the day, seems to be a newspaper ad insulting military personnel. Congress spent (2) full fat days voting on (2) separate bills censuring Move On .org for the ad. Don’t worry, the Swift boat ads are safe. Next up? Columbia College, who invited Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to speak to students. Appalled that any institution would give the deranged leader a platform, Rep. From California and *cough* Presidential candidate Duncan Hunter threatened to cut off every single type of Federal Funding to Columbia University. And when it did come time to do the heavy lifting, Congress couldn’t even break a nail. Support The Troops? Not so, says Congress who continually fail to bring the troops home, even for temporary relief of duty. In a bill that would have given the troops an overdue break from combat, Congress failed to get enough votes that would give Troops the same amount of time at home as in combat, with one Congressman saying that it have would been insulting to the troops. All that’s left is for Congress to fumble SCHIP, and send millions of American children to bed with no health insurance for the morning. The Laundry List of issues Congress should be spending time on rivals only Nixon’s List of enemies, giving the 13 % that still supports this Congress a bang for its passing buck. But there is one thing Congress did accomplish this past week—they raised the country’s National Debt ONCE AGAIN…this time to 9 trillion dollars. And this time next year, the famous National Debt Clock in Times Square, NYC, will be obsolete because of a lack of digits….
