Story behind the song
I wrote this song along time ago about the decline of a relationship due to infidelity. I think anyone who has ever lost a love to another will appreciate this song.
Lyrics
As a tear runs down my cheek you say We can still be friends But somehow I don't believe we'll ever be friends...Again The book is closed on the story of us I guess, you had to set me down What about all the dreams you left scattered on the ground. To think that I loved you Like a fool I believed that you loved me too And I trusted you I'd rather lose you to the truth Than to keep you with all of the lies I see in your eyes. I keep your notes in a little box hidden, under my bed I stay up late some nights holding on to you in my head So many times you were sweet to me So many times, you loved my ways Looking back I wonder now how many times were really mine, anyway Repeat Chorus: What did I do to deserve this Did I ever treat you wrong For so long, I held you high upon my shoulders But I guess that wasn't enough somehow I lift you up and you let me down Repeat Chorus (2 times)
