Single   $0.5

What should be soft rock, turned into a banal pop song. But I do a good job anyway. 'It's summer time, it's party time!' *groan*
its summertime its party time

Hi, I've been writing songs since I was twelve years old, and recording them since 1985. Roger Cook (of the Cook-Greenaway-Cook songwriting partnership and Blue Mink, etc) once wrote that I have the ability to write a hit single and that he was waiting for one from me. He also said I need to 'lighten up a bit', unquote. F*ck that!

Story behind the song
I wrote the guitar line for this when I was about 14 years old. I had been doing some songs for Michael Crow and after we finished a session for one of his songs, I played him a backing track for one of my own. He came up with a better melody line than I had in mind for it, so I invited him on board to help me finish the thing. But the lyric... so banal that I can't be arsed to type them up for you. "It's summertime, it's party time." Oh, good grief... I really am so sorry about this! The next time I'm in a similar situation, I promise you that I'll exert more control. Yes really, I will. Michael Crow sings the lead vocal and the rest is all me, but the words are NOTHING to do with me, ok? It's important that I'm absolutely clear about this! You'll be singing the damn thing all day, finally to end up knocking yourself out cold to stop it going round and round in your head. It had that effect on me and I hated it; in the end I had to give myself a DIY lobotomy to stop it, using a rusty old drill with no anaesthetic. Again.

If anyone actually BUYS this bubblegum, please buy at least three other songs to dilute it so that your teeth don't rot. You owe it to your own dental and mental health, ok? :-) P.S. I'm pulling your leg, Michael! Let's get together again soon and do something together.
