Story behind the song
It sounds like Uncle Walter says this song is "an 8-Bar Hambone, not 16 bars." My cousin Marynell reports "Harry Jr. Learned this Hambo tune from the Thorsness family. It’s a Norweigian dance. [At the Texas Folklife Festival in San Antonio where we performed since 1979 , I ran into a Norweigian fiddler and he played this tune exactly for the Norweigian dancers. "
