A song about a tiny town in Texas
Songwriter, singer, musician
Just me....
** unless I forget my medicine. Then the other me helps.
Story behind the song
This song is a snapshot in time, of life in Bremond, Texas... pop 876. Those who are from this area will know that Jason #77, was a young man who died while playing high school football. Several people mentioned in this song , including myself, were present on the field the night Jason died. His helmet hangs just inside the locker room door. The team and coaches touch the helmet as they go out the door to the field.
Lee was a very independent soul who owned the local body shop. He was killed in a tragic motorcycle accident on New Years Eve several years ago.
Deaths like these hit a small community hard. All of us knew and grieved. This song is for the memory of these young people, and the town of Bremond.
God Bless,

Lyrics
FM 46 takes a run right thru our town
One flashing light two watertowers a two block long downtown
A brand new school a football field new track running round
Some baseball fields the chambers park post office right around
Now Roberts got a hardware store Miss Betty's cross the street
putting out the local news four pages once a week
Maries next door sells toys and more Jeanies cross the way
She'll do your books and taxes too get haircuts while you wait
Chorus:
Our town ain't big buddy but you know size don't matter
This towns the place we call our home
A spot of heaven near the falls and Limestone line
Bremond ain't so big but she's just fine
Janets got the movie store the librarys next door
Groholskis got your groceries Stella's selling floors
Larrys got the mall next door The clinics cross the street
Big mikes selling Lone Star Lite a new band every week
Donette has got the A1 gas right across the street
The liquor store where Baptists go and think they won't be seen
Stanley's got the Drybean and Booger, well he's the law
Jennifers the Pharmacist across from the First Star
Chorus
Davids got the Springtime stop Sluggers got the team
The Baptists ride to all the games in brother Stans machine
The Catholics got the beer taps in the walls of their big hall
The Church of Christ closed down last year no music there at all
Two mikes in town to fix your car or maybe tow your truck
We used to have a body shop till Lee ran out of luck
yeah and Jasons helmet hangs right inside the Tigers door
seven seven watches down on them as they go into score
