Story behind the song
My dear friends Jahn and Jeannie Cook drove 2000 from their home in Arkansas to their little cabin in Port Townsend Washington a couple of weeks ago. So I packed up my digital 16 track deck and skeedaddled up that way not realising that their cabin did not have electricity! However Jahn backed their Mini Cooper up to the door and plugged a power converter up to the car's battery and Voila!...we were able to record a Senseless Budd jam. This song is another great example of Jahn's incredible ability to generate an amazing, spontaneous song, drawn from recent events; and like all of his songs, it has many layers. It's the only country song he's ever written (that I know of).
