My entry into Soundclick's 10th Anniversary Contest. I wrote the lyrics and music, played the instruments (except for drumbeat) and sang the song. The entries must have lyrics and contain the word, 'SOUNDCLICK.' Wish me luck, I'll need it ;)

Story behind the song
I saw that Soundclick was having a song contest, so I wrote and recorded this original tune and I hope that I win. Happy 10th Anniversary to Soundclick !
Lyrics
"INSANITY" - music & lyrics by Mike Bennett (FGP) Sun comes up this morning, a new day is dawning, Frost on the window pane, and in it, I scratch your name; Chorus: You're driving me, to insanity, Here I am, beggin' on my bended knees; You're driving me, to insanity, It's just a pick, to get my new one up on 'SOUNDCLICK.' Checked and the levels fine, I wrote this in a nick of time, Tweaking out the sound and mix, I wish I knew a few more tricks; Rhythm's thumpin' and the groove is tight, I'm hoping that by tonight; To have this finished in time, to meet the deadline. Repeat Chorus, then outro.

A totally new experience for me; Mike who is singing! Very professional done, with vocals alternated with guitar solos. And that contest was in 2007? And which place did this get. Number 1, I suppose! And did you sing on other tracks as well? This one was really surprising me. Great!
Good to hear your voice, Mike! The music and the lyrics mesh perfectly to reinforce the theme. Of course, no surprise on the tasty axe work - always good to hear. I like the choice of the solo/fade on this one, implying that the insanity doesn't really ever end...

Nice work on your SC anniversary tune amigo! I missed this one back in 2007, so I'm glad you pointed it out for the 'hair-pulling theme' player Mike. Great to hear your voice in melody, almost as rare as my vocals ;)

So glad I got the link to this song so that I can hear more of your vocals. I think they're great, and this is a first class song. Wonderful guitar playing too.
