i started playing at the age of 10. i was heavily influenced by johnny cash. on sundays dad would break out the records, that was the only day we got to listen. we were not allowed to touch dads records and stereo and owning my own was out of the question due to money being very tight. it drove me nuts. i had to hear that sound. as luck would have it my grandpa had an old guitar ....can't recall the brand name now.....the wheels started turning.....i figured if i can't hear johnny...i'll settle for the next best thing....i'll play it myself. after nights and nights of trying i finnally hit those intro notes on folsom.....and the rest is history.
