Story behind the song
I was living in Westland, Michigan USA and performing with a friend John Smolinski. We called our selves Juan Guanco & The Whale. One day after huricane Katrina the gas prices were very high and John showed me some lyrics he had writen. He asked me if I could do anything with them. I thought about it for a couple days came up with a chord progression and melody and then wrote some additional lyrics. We called it Working For Gas.
