Modern Hard Rock
Krome is a 4-piece modern rock act that hails from Vancouver, Canada. Their sound has been described as "sonically modern, in the vein of Nickelback, Default, Puddle of Mudd, and Theory of a Deadman yet the songs display a cool variety of 'old school' influences such as Alice in Chains, Soundgarden and Stone Temple Pilots." The resulting combination is a sophisticated mix of tightly structured harmonies, deep guitars, and dark, often brooding melodies that cleverly interchange with bright, ethereal chorus hooks. The writing team of Lead Guitarist/Singer Shawn Meehan and Producer Ted Moore combined to form the songs for the full-length CD "Neglected" in the Fall of 2002. "My collaborative relationship with Shawn has actually existed for nearly a decade now" explains Moore, "we have worked on several projects together, yet this group of songs is, I believe, some of the best work that I have had the pleasure of being a part of." Meehan adds: "I have gotten Ted so pumped about this album, (laughs) that I actually now managed to talk him into playing bass for the band, both live and on record." Meehan and Moore are joined by Vancouver session guru Doug Grant on drums and Jesson Nelson - a relative newcomer to the Vancouver music scene, on second guitar.

Story behind the song
“Acknowledge” has been selected as the first single to be released to radio from the recently mastered full-length CD entitled “Neglected.” The lyrics on “Acknowledge” represent a 'ghostly allegory for soldiers that have been taken prisoner, left behind in war-torn countries, or felt somehow abandoned by their countrymen upon their return from duty'. “The lyrics are definitely heavy…” Meehan admits, “but the message is more one of dramatic fiction than any intended social commentary.”
Lyrics
What I know feels like garbage Sold my soul; would you acknowledge? No reason for another day My journey feels far away How could I know it’d go this way? Leave me here to die alone Gave myself, so carry on Years away, story’s gone When I’m gone will you remember it was not my fault? Leave me here to die alone Gave myself, so carry on Leave me here to die alone Gave myself, so carry on All the bodies fall before me Left alone; the one and only Soul survivor; God knows only When the dreams will cease to haunt me What I know feels like garbage Sold my soul; would you acknowledge? Leave me here to die alone Gave myself, so carry on Leave me here to die alone Gave myself, so carry on Leave me here to die alone Gave myself, so carry on
