A bum in New York City befriends a puppy dog, which he named Mellow. Eventually, they build up a strong friendship, and the dog and the bum live their way through the rough New York, year after year. As the years passed by, the dog grew increasingly old and ill. When autumn finally arrived, the dog died. The bum is left alone, grieving his old companion. As his own days counted down to a final, the two of them finally meet up in Heaven.
