Artist picture
Acoustic solo artist from Fredericton New Brunswick, playing original pieces.
A 22 year old singer/songwriter from Fredericton, New Brunswick, Jason has grown over the past several years into an original artist toting his own brand of acoustic pop from show to show. Although his style has been compared to current musicians such as John Mayer, Howie Day and James Blunt, it carries a sound of its own, separating him from many other acoustic songwriters. Influenced by great songwriters such as Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, John Mayer and others, Jason attempts to create a sense of realism in his lyrics along with an easy to listen to vibe and catchy melody. Jason has been seen performing live at several venues including the Capital Open Mic, the Red n' Black Revue and the Neil Coffee House. Currently, functioning as a solo act, Jason has also worked with other local artists such as Kaylee Hopkins (www.myspace.com/kayleeonwindsor) and Tyler Lombard (www.myspace.com/TylerLombard).

Story behind the song
When the girl goes back for the familiar, and leaves the new behind.
Lyrics
I used to be the type of guy you needed When he would break your heart in little pieces 2 by 2 by 2 on the floor I used to keep you up there on my shelf Hoped that someday I'd take you down I always kept that to myself But now your running back to Kansas To everything you know And I couldn't do a thing I just sat and watched you go Your running back to Kansas A blond haired bus bandit I'll never understand it Why you'd run back to Kansas. And I never really understood it all Even if I pretended to know it all There are still so many things I don't get. And we, traced constellations with our fingertips Named the stars as they fall We never got around to that a second time Cause now your running back to Kansas Back to everything you know And I couldn't do a thing I just sat and watched you go Your running back to Kansas A blond haired bus bandit I'll never understand it Why you'd run back to Kansas. Running back to Kansas Back to everything you know Leave me standing here on this tired yellow road Running bakc to Kansas No rubies on your feet Did you even take a second look back at me?
