I was perusing Facebook looking for lyricists and ran across these lyrics and decided that I'd build the song around them. I thought it turned out pretty good and Martin was gracious enough to let me use them.
Lyrics
Somebody Always Does It Better
By: Martin Parnham
I'm entering the fray, kicking and screaming
How can you spend your days,
Full of thought but bereft of meaning?
Tell me, does your cognition
Ever translate into ambition?
Forever armed to the teeth
With flattery and malice and condescension
Security for what lies beneath
You search for Cure and find prevention
And Somebody Always Does It Better
Once again, an overreaction
Have you always made
Your statements without a retration?
Will you ever put things right?
Or do you lack the craft and fight?
You have too many friends
They're all means to an end
Somebody Always Does It Better
Better than you
What you don't know, must surely be worth knowing
Everybody often knows better.
