Story behind the song
Henri Coof has been a drum player for so many years that it goes beyond the eighties... At some point, drumming alone at home is no fun, and thus Henri plays guitar. He had put together few chords that were making a nice suite of classical pop kind of stuff. Mr Ain't came on here and wrote the chorus, the melody and some words. He invited then Daniel Antoine, a VOICE, former founder of backstage with Paul Personne, and 6 years touring worldwide with The Commitments (of the movie) as a keyboard player. Daniel is bringing there the ultimate touch that makes this "bowie-sounds-like" song probably the greatest song of the album.
Lyrics
Oh, drifting, drifting through the city Like a sailor on the sea Oh, looking for your presence Yes I was so sure, that you would be there Day after day, around the corner Next door Hum, hoping, hoping to see your eyes I’ll be back tomorrow I know you’ll cross the street Like a siren in the sea You still don’t know me But I always knew, you will recognize me This day Chorus Oh, tomorrow In the death of your eyes In the heat of your arms In the whisper of your lips Oh, despairing, despairing to kiss your eyes You won’t be there tomorrow I won’t blaze in your light I’m sinking in the sea, night after night You never heard me, day after day Crying... Oh, tomorrow In the death of your eyes In the heat of your arms In the whisper of your lips Oh, tomorrow In the death of your eyes In the heat of your arms In the whisper of your lies © Bertrand Damien - Ensuran Productions Textes déposés All rights reserved 2005-2007
