RETRO pop songs --- from another millennium and another galaxy.
My name's Pete. from Birmingham in UK-land. Nice to meet you ! I made a lot of very varied popsongs in the pre-digital age. I say they're McCartneyish, as I don't know how to categorize them. Allsorts. The description I use is RETRO I'm really a songwriter who wants others to perform these songs. So please bear that in mind as you grimace at my efforts to be acceptable. I'm especially concerned to write good lyrics, and if you do ever give some time to my stuff, I hope you will click to the lyrics and read those also. They don't come easy, you know. I'm plonking my songs here to give them a home, in the hope you might think they're not too bad. In fact, in the hope that you'll snap them up and I'll become an instant overnight megastar multi-millionaire. But failing that, I hope that you just like them. And if you do like one - I'd especially like it if you told me so. We all need strokes, eh ? Cheers ! Pete Songs-in-a-Bottle

Story behind the song
it's empty because the bare track was made as a guide for a would-be real guitar/drum group to do it. that never happened. so i've superimposed vocals as best i could. the middle verse was meant to be the electric guitar solo. i think the hook line with 'fascinate' should have been used each time.
Lyrics
you sense and capture emotion and then manipulate you make controlling demands, then stealthily stipulate you know when somebody wants you, and when they rise to your bait you like to see someone near you disintegrate you treat another's emotions like playing with a toy your nonchalance turns the heat up while keeping cool and coy you put yourself on parade ground, you strut with confident pride toying with worms on a fish-hook until they've died fool to follow fate you you fascinate how long must I wait for you to break my heart ? you're diffident and indifferent, keep playing hard to get but when you pick on a victim, you haul them in the net putting yourself on a stage-floor, you let them all get a view getting a kick out of watching them wanting you fool to follow fate you you captivate how long must I wait for you to break my heart ? you know full well that you've got it, you like to flirt and flaunt you dangle it then deny it, a game of tease and taunt your effervescent enticement takes them to dream number nine and when you've lifted them so high you cut the line fool to follow fate you you stimulate how long must I wait for you to break my heart ?
