RETRO pop songs --- from another millennium and another galaxy.
My name's Pete. from Birmingham in UK-land. Nice to meet you ! I made a lot of very varied popsongs in the pre-digital age. I say they're McCartneyish, as I don't know how to categorize them. Allsorts. The description I use is RETRO I'm really a songwriter who wants others to perform these songs. So please bear that in mind as you grimace at my efforts to be acceptable. I'm especially concerned to write good lyrics, and if you do ever give some time to my stuff, I hope you will click to the lyrics and read those also. They don't come easy, you know. I'm plonking my songs here to give them a home, in the hope you might think they're not too bad. In fact, in the hope that you'll snap them up and I'll become an instant overnight megastar multi-millionaire. But failing that, I hope that you just like them. And if you do like one - I'd especially like it if you told me so. We all need strokes, eh ? Cheers ! Pete Songs-in-a-Bottle

Lyrics
I'm lost in a dream, with rested head upon my elbow I open my eyes and gaze out from an open window there are stars in the sky that you and I used to count the whole night through and I find that as the picture that once was comes into view memories start unwinding and take me back to you I'm sat in a chair and watching who knows what on tv my wandering mind starts focussing on times behind me hearing music play as we'd wait to pay in a supermarket queue one of hundreds of so many simple things we used to do memories start unwinding and take me back to you it doesn't seem so long ago that you were here with me but now that's changed and all I know is nothing seems the way it used to be listening in the car to a middle bar of the 'Rhapsody in Blue' I remember when we listened to that concert just we two memories start unwinding and take me back to you I suddenly might realise that you're not here with me and all that meets my saddened eyes is emptiness and cruel reality some things so mundane you'd think there could be no connection just trigger a chain of thoughts that turn in your direction faces in the moon or a stirring spoon almost anything it's true in the mirror there's a lost reflection of someone I knew memories start unwinding and take me back to you memories start unwinding and take me back to you memories start unwinding and take me back to you
