Story behind the song
Stand Up was one of four tunes that Joe, Glen, Tommy, Dave and I set out to make a great demo to get the elusive break. As all great starts seem to go we never really made the finish line. Only one song made it to the final mix which was "Taste So Sweet" The other tunes still hold their own though as Instrumentals. "Stand Up" almost never made it on here though. The motor on my 8 track failed and you can't buy them anymore. I rented a 4 track and ran what tracks I could find into the computer. Tommy's solo had to be extracted with a ghost echo of the other tracks and for some reason played at a different speed. I isolated his frequency with a graphic equalizer and clipped his guitar solos to just the right size and then stretched the file to match the other tracks as best I could. It isn't perfect but at least I was able to resurrect it from otherwise permanent death.
