Story behind the song
A quickly written song, written just after getting out of bed. I was thinking about the line at the sandwich shop where I had a gig that afternoon. That's not intended to be the meaning of the lyrics however. The lyrics are Christian based lyrics for those who have ears to hear!
Lyrics
Standing in your place in line There doesn’t seem to be an end And we’re coming around a bend It’s looking even longer than before (Chorus) This is not the first time I wanted something more But I can’t remember what I’ve been waiting for I Ask someone ahead how long they’ve been waiting It’s going by rather quickly That's what they’re saying (Chorus 2) This is not the first time that I wanted something more And I can’t remember what I’m waiting for But when you run you fall behind When you push and shove You get the back of the line So spread the word the first is the last and the last keep doing time Yeah Standing in your place in line and I’m just blind But I think it’s gonna be alright It’s gonna be just fine (Chorus 3) Now this is not the first time I’ve been given something more But I can’t remember what It was like before But when you run you fall behind When you push and shove You get the back of the line So spread the word The first is the last And the last keep doing time Yeah
