*New Version* This is a piece for a character named Kelli in a story I started a long time ago. She had a troubled past and this 'theme song' tries to capture some of that angst as well as some of the mystery surrounding her.
I am a graduate of the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a degree in music composition. This goes without saying but I love music (listening, composing, studying, performing).

Story behind the song
I wrote this piece for a little "novel" I began in middle school. It was your stereotypical "soap opera romance" story with your plot twists and unnecessarily dramatic moments. I thought, "how about I write a theme for my favorite character?" Kelli was this mysterious girl who basically came from nowhere then fell in love with the protagonist. Of course, it didn't work out how it should have. Kelli herself was kinda weird but did have a tragic past and consequently was often very depressed and emotional. I tried to convey that here. This is actually one of my best pieces from the time, I think. It started as a VERY repetitive piano solo (the Am9- F9 arpeggios were the only thing present in the left hand) but for "Kelli's Theme" in addition to orchestrating I changed some of the themes and added some new things. Weird to think I had some concept of orchestration when I was that young. The piece was originally written for a reduced MIDI orchestra with Yamaha XG sounds but I rerecorded it on EastWest Symphonic Orchestra so it sounds a pretty nice. I've also uploaded two other songs from this set, "New Town" and "The Lonely Girl." Enjoy.
