Artist picture
New/Old school Folk/Rock artist with a flair for poignant melodies and meaningful lyrics.
Thomas Palminteri is a singer/songwriter, composer with a subtle and varied gift for lyrics and melody in the tradition of Paul Simon and Randy Newman. He has written both songs that tell a story such as ïSpring Has Goneï and Waiting for the No.12 and composed instrumental music such as ïJourney to the Black Madonnaï the enigmatic Mass in C that defy categorization. In his teenage years he developed a strong appreciation for Rock music beginning with The Beatles and later became enamored with the more eclectic groups of his adolescence such as the Talking Heads and Elvis Costello. Later in college when he decided to study music more formally Tom became deeply affected by Classical and Jazzï particularly J.S. Bach, Mozart, Faure and Debussy.

Story behind the song
A four-track of an older song of mine that I recently felt like playing again. Although this 4-track is a little rough, I feel it conveys the song well enough. I think I wrote this at a time when many people I knew were stressed out or in pain..it's a song about trying to find peace of mind. I hope it can evoke some of that sentiment again at this time.
Lyrics
Just ran out spur of the moment, down so long and I didn't have my hopes up... But now I can see...I hope I can see... Lived my life in a colorless town now I'm out seeing changes going round. But as I work through these streets there is so many needs. Where are you going you tired people lay down your Burden...It's time to reach out, reach out for love. Where are you going you tired people lay down your Burden...Where are you going you tired people well you know that I'm tired to...I'm tired to but I gonna reach out. I'm tired too, yeah, I'm tired to but I still believe that all may be one. Still there are so many people living life alone...livin life alone and at such a cost.. Where are you going you tired people lay down your Burden...It's time to reach out, reach out for love.
