Story behind the song
When the inspiration for a Walking Song strikes, I'm usually sitting back, noodling about on the bass until a catchy riff comes along. I pull up the recording software and vamp the riff ad nauseam, tossing in a bridge whenever it feels appropriate. Then I'll open a new track and dub a few improvisational melody and counter-melody takes until I've got a layered piece of music with a strong rhythmic core to it.
The song will tell me when it's time to call it a wrap, and save the mixdown.
